John Messenger’s Notes
10km Paddle on Pittwater – Bumpy training (LOL).
What felt like a hour of side chop/wake made for a good challenge, felt like I was going to fall in a few times over the run. Initially wanted to stay at MAF but simply couldn’t with how difficult it was to just stay up right, so at half way I decided to let the hand break off and have a bit of a punch. Very light wind (again in typical Pittwater style always felt like a head wind), very choppy and bumpy with many big boat wakes from the side the entire paddle (unfortunately no assistance but I did get sunk about 10 times filling the dugout completely and nearly rolling me).
Far from easy, but a good paddle to test your balance. Also forgot to turn on DND and had to take 2 phone calls during the session LOL.
