10km Paddle on Pittwater - Bumpy training (LOL). What felt like a hour of side chop/wake made for a good challenge, felt like I was going to fall in a few times over the run. Initially wanted to stay at MAF but simply couldn't with how difficult it was to just stay up right, so at half way I decided to let the hand break off and have a bit of a punch. Very light wind (again in typical Pittwater style always felt like a head wind), very choppy and bumpy with many big boat wakes from the side the entire paddle (unfortunately no assistance but I did get sunk about 10 times filling the dugout completely and nearly rolling me). Sunny light westerly and more tide than it looked, but a great paddle. 2 laps of the SUP5.0 coarse at Jamieson Park Paddle. 4x 90 degree turns and 3x u-turns. Solid finishing pace of 6'15"/km. Riding the Naish Javelin 14' x 24". Used the Workout app as it very accurate especially when paired with the Polar chest HR monitor. Great screen stats. Happy with the paddle and time. Z3 10km lap on the Naish Javelin 14’ x 22”. This included a Z2 5 min warm up and Z2 5 min cool down. Pretty happy with the time. A bit of wind and boats on the lake making it tricky on the 22”. Expand/Collapse |

Hard work - Southerly still blowing but decided it would be a good way to end the year. The gusts were strong enough to stop me near still heading south, but not windy enough for rideable bumps coming North. I did get one boat wake off Sandy Point but unfortunately fell in with all the excitement (Doh)! Riding the Naish Maliko 14’ x 26”. Happy New Year all. Expand/Collapse |

Opened up the 10km this morning. Still staying in MAF (75%). Happy with this time. Side wind the whole way was annoying and water was bumpy as from every direction. But a good first lap of this course. Naish Javelin 14' x 24" was a dream. Expand/Collapse |

First ever 15km. Took on Pittwater this afternoon with bumps, chop, boat wake everywhere and a 5kn Northerly. 50/50 with and against the wind. Did the entire paddle at MAF (180 less age) with an average HR of 138bpm. Kind of wish I went for the 20km now, but thought I'd better ease my way into it. Very challenging with the confused bumps everywhere, but very happy with a 1:48:15 for the 15km (1:58:42 for the 16.43km). Riding the Naish Javelin 14' x 24". Got a new VMG TT fin in too which was a dream! Very nice. Expand/Collapse |

Super stoked to finally crack the 15min 5km. Comditions were very east, so I winged out to sea a few km’s to get a good angle, then deflated my wing and DW’ed from offshore Mona Vale to Brown Water. I did come down just off Makaha as there was a crazy rip pull all the bumps together and doing weird things. Wind - ENE 15-18kn Swell - E 1.2m Riding Naish Hover 125, Jet 1400HA/280HA on 80cm fuselage and C100/85cm mast. Mount shimmed 4 degrees. Expand/Collapse |

Fun DW’er from Makaha to Mona Vale basin. Made it the full way without coning down, so pretty stoked. Wind SSE about 12-15kn then went SSW 15kn towards the end. Swell east about 1-1.5m. Good bumps. Riding custom 6’6” x 26” DW board. Naish 1800HA/310HA on 80cm fuselage and C100/75cm mast. 1mm mast shim (1/3 degree). Expand/Collapse |

An awesome DW’er from Brownwater to Mona Vale Basin. The bumps were excellent. I really wanted to crack the 15min 5km, but I came off foil once as a result of a poor decision. Wind SE around 18-20kn, ESE swell about 1.5m Riding Naish Hover 125 with JET 1800HA/280HA on 64cm fuselage and 75cm mast. Had the base plate shimmed 3 degrees and the rear wing shimmed 2 degrees. Foil mounted an inch further forward than max forward. Expand/Collapse |

My first Foil entry for the season. Not the best as I was off foil for a large part, but a starting point. Conditions – Wind was NE at approx 15-18kn, swell about 1.5m+ from the east. Riding – Naish Hover 125, JET 2140HA/310HA with 64cm Fuselage and 81cm alloy mast (2020 style). I added an extract of the actual foiling part to set the idea of what the run could have been LOL. Setting a goal to be under 15mins for my next 5km. Despite a tricky start, a super fun run. Expand/Collapse |

Foil downwinder from Av to Brownwater. Nice NE’er around 18-22kn. A bit tricky with a strong ESE swell around 2m. Great bumps. Unfortunately came down 6 times which isn’t ideal. A bit of Raceboard Surf training/practice today. 6.6kms of ins and outs. Trying to learn to handle the raceboard on waves / bumps. I have a lot to learn here. The javelin is definitely a tricky one to master on a wave. Did my fair share of falls today - Humbled 🙂 Expand/Collapse |
